Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Loan Assistant. The Loan Assistant will provide support to loan officers and assist with various tasks related to loan origination, underwriting, and mortgage servicing. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in the financial services industry and looking to gain experience in loan operations.

This position will start at $16/hour.

Responsibilities:
- Assist loan officers with the loan application process, including gathering necessary documentation from borrowers
- Review loan files for completeness and accuracy
- Prepare loan documents and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as TILA (Truth in Lending Act)
- Coordinate with escrow companies, title companies, and other third parties involved in the loan process
- Perform basic math calculations to verify loan amounts, interest rates, and repayment terms
- Conduct credit analysis and assist with underwriting activities
- Maintain accurate records of loan transactions and update customer information in the bank's database
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in finance or related field is a plus
- Previous experience in a financial institution or mortgage company, loan processing experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with numbers accurately
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Proficient computer, including knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers and internal stakeholders
